This study deals with both parts of the medical work attributed to Hildegard of Bingen († 1179 ), Cause and cure and Physica (alias Liber subtilitatum diversarum naturarum creaturarum) in which it tries to valutate the role and the status of the magic and the suggestion. The demoniac possession, for example, played an important part in the life and in the works of the abbess. Magic and counter magic are also well represented in Physica, which constitutes often from this point of view an inverted information about spells or superstitions.
